The annual breakfast strives to commemorate the life and legacy of a great Amercian hero, Cesar E. Chavez. Each year the breakfast program includes a dynamic keynote speaker who is honored with the CEC Visonary Award. This award is given to an individual that has demonstrated leadership and a dedication to social justice that is typifiied by one of Cesar E. Chavez' core values.
The breakfast also honors our youth by including youth in the program. The winners of the San Diego, Orange County, and Imperial Valley high school essay contest are announced and the grand prize winner is asked to read their winning essay.
